We at Fisher & Company, are proud to introduce our latest innovation for 2012 -  our new IPB- Olympiad (Illuminated Pedestrian Beacon) being launched this month. Boasting aluminium, polyethylene and polycarbonate construction ideal for all weather corrosion and vandal resistant properties. All LED illuminated column and belisha beacon. The belisha beacon consumes 8 watts of power and the column consumes just over 21 watts. So for a crossing with 2no. Olympiad’s you will be looking at a power consumption of approximately 60 watts. 50,000 hours life expectancy.  

Because the IPB-Olympiad has a 76mm diameter column, you can if required, mount a SL4W spot light to it.

New CNC Vertical Machining Centre from XYZ

As part of our ongoing drive to be more productive and efficient we have invested heavily in a new CNC Vertical Machining Centre from XYZ. This will improve the manufacturing time for the locks and hinges used in our Feeder Pillars for Street Lighting and Outdoor Power Supply. It will also allow us to produce, economically, other components used within the company. Its main benefit is to reduce manufacturing time allowing us to continue to deliver our products ahead of the competition.

As we still have the original basis of Fisher & Co, the Precision Toolmaking business, our new baby will be working hard to earn its keep.

Full XYZ training has been given to staff on the VMC and it has impressed everyone using it with the ease of operation and speed of production. There are wide smiles in the Tooling Room! It just goes to show that you don’t have go to India or China and the British Bulldog still has some bite.

We were asked by a street lighting contractor to solve the problem of consistently have to replace shove holers that were wearing out and breaking every few months. Replacing 3 times a year at approximately £150 each becomes an expensive tool!!

The digging end is made from 4mm thick Stainless Steel plate welded to thick wall steel tube with sleeved and heavy duty pivot pin which eliminates twisting action. HD steel tube socket for ….
Pulwound Fibre Glass handles for extreme strength. Electrical insulation tested to BS EN 60900. Handles are through pinned to socket and pins welded in place
